Anglo Gold Ashanti Mine Case Study

Providing local support across the globe is all part of the Ardent service. So, when Anglo Gold Ashanti gave us the opportunity to supply, maintain and service their vehicle fire suppression systems at the Geita gold mine in Tanzania, we established a local office and developed a dedicated local team. This allowed us to offer the hands-on support Geita needed and give a much needed boost to the local workforce.

10 years later, our team of regional specialists now service and maintain the mine's excavators, dumper trucks and ancillary machines and are responsible for all vehicle fire suppression systems. To provide the fire protection required in this harsh environment, we installed fully automatic Ansul A-101 dry chemical fire suppression systems throughout, together with Ansul I-A-20-G red line hand portable extinguishers. For added safety, we also incorporated automatic engine shut-off and battery isolation.
