Port
of Tyne
In our experience there is no such thing as a common problem; every client and every situation is slightly different and we have evolved a 'bespoke' approach to match.
When a fire broke out on a large grain loader at the Port of Tyne, we approached them to discuss their fire suppression needs. Our engineers undertook an extensive survey of the mobile harbour cranes (of which there are four) also posed a significant fire risk. The fire risk assessment highlighted that if a fire was to start, the only way the crane operator could escape was to pass the exposed engine bay below.
We worked closely with the Port to ensure our client%u2019s requirements were met. We designed an automatic fire suppression system to protect the operators and safeguard the machinery. We then went on to install fire suppression systems on their new machines in the newly built biomass terminal.
