Ardent provide Fire Systems for Scottish Coal

Ardent provide Fire Systems for Scottish Coal's 10 new Liebherr machines. The Scottish Resources Group, through its subsidiary Scottish Coal, currently operates nine opencast coal mines across Ayrshire and Fife, with a combined output of over four million tonnes a year.

A recent increase in demand for UK-produced coal and the need for improved productivity led an increase in their fleet of machines by six Liebherr R9350 and four R9250 mining excavators.

The machines weigh several hundred tonnes, and on each of them Ardent installed fully automatic fire-fighting equipment based upon both powder and foam systems to protect this multi-million pound contract.
