Staff Spotlight - Eliott Campey
Meet Eliott Campey, our sales manager of almost three years. From securing regional business to collaborating with big industry names such as Transport for London, Amazon, and Arriva, he explains his evolving role at Ardent and what led him to it.
How has your role at Ardent evolved over time?
I came into the transport division specifically to identify and secure new regional business
outside of London. My role has evolved and I’ve made my own path - working closely with
original equipment manufacturers and transport authorities, as well as experts such as DAB
Engineering, to increase sales across all avenues.
How did you get started in the industry? What did you do before you joined Ardent?
I was national account manager for a construction materials company, taking full responsibility
for the UK accounts. Products involved included flooring, cladding, adhesives, and integrated
plumbing systems. I joined Ardent because I wanted a new challenge, with different products in
a different industry.
What’s your favourite part of working at Ardent?
Definitely the team. Over the last year especially, we’ve become a close-knit unit, working
together to solve unexpected challenges while taking on new product introductions and projects.
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
Within Ardent, it would be securing specifications with multiple operators and OEMs, including
Arriva - the second largest operator within the UK. I’ve also been involved in winning high-value
projects with Transport for London, contributed heavily by the input of my colleagues.
What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on at Ardent?
I found working with Amazon on a light monitoring solution for trucks very interesting, however
due to a specification change our system was no longer needed. I also enjoy helping clients with
the Hearing Loop System, learning about the challenges hard of hearing people face, and
knowing we can assist with improving their journeys.
What do you think makes Ardent’s company culture unique?
I’m trusted to do my job and given responsibility to achieve what’s expected.
What are your goals for the next months/year?
To work the best I can to achieve the set targets, win more specifications within the transport
sector, and seek opportunities within new markets, such as trucks and other commercial
vehicles.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I love the outdoors - hiking in the Lakes, Peaks, and Yorkshire Dales. I’m also very much into
my garden and plants, and enjoy eating and drinking with great company. Oh, I’m also
shamelessly partial to epic fantasy books and video games.
Best advice you’ve ever received?
“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us” - Gandalf The Grey (from The
Lord Of The Rings).
