Fire protection systems, components and aftercare.
Whether you work in mining, forestry, recycling or bulk handling, machinery is at the heart of your operations. If key specialist vehicles are damaged or disabled by fire your productivity can be badly affected. So we install tailored systems that keep you safe and keep your business moving.
Our clients work in some extraordinarily tough places. They operate in mines, quarries and forests. They deal with salt water, arctic temperatures and tropical conditions. Wherever their work takes them, we have the equipment and the depth of experience to help them adapt to their unique working environments.
We understand that key pieces of machinery are often needed 24 hours a day. So specifying a system to suit your vehicles work schedule is key. If your machinery is used 24/7 then you need a system that is robust enough to cope. Equally for machines used ad-hoc you need a system to be ready and primed to jump into life even after a weeks inactivity. And we understand that access to them may be very limited. We’re experts in working around your schedule and are specialists in finding ways to assess, specify and fit fire suppression systems so that downtime is minimised and disruption is kept to a minimum.
Whatever original equipment manufacturer you prefer to use, we make sure our fire suppression systems integrate perfectly. We use sympathetic colours, styles and materials to give you solutions that feel at home in all sorts of manufacturers from Caterpillar to Komatsu.
In an effort to cut costs some companies scrimp on system installation for example; using plastic cable ties rather than bolted P-clip for hoses, or leaving cables loose or parts exposed where they can be easily damaged. That’s not our way. We fit our systems with pride. That means using the best equipment, never cutting corners and making sure everything is done properly. But it’s not just our kit that’s a cut above. Our installation engineers set the standard too. They’re highly trained, are constantly expanding their knowledge and use their vans as mobile workshops so always carry spare parts and can provide bespoke answers on the spot.
If one component fails, the whole fire system could fail. So everything we fit is tested to meet global fire standards. We never compromise on quality.
The critical properties of a nozzle are coverage and discharge rate, which depends on the size and pressure at the nozzle. We ensure each one is designed to deliver the correct amount of powder, liquid or gas.
Our double steel wire braided hoses are designed to operate from -40°C to 100°C. They’re resistant to oils, fuels and ultra violet light. Their distinctive colour ensures they don’t get confused with other hoses.
Steel, heavy duty, zinc plated and powder coated in black or a colour to match your machines.
Designed to withstand the arduous conditions of mobile plant, including shock, vibration and corrosion.
Able to detect fires in as little as 5 milliseconds, our range of detectors includes spot thermal detectors and linear detectors that can sense fire along a whole length of cable.
All our hoses and cables are mounted using P-clips rather than low quality plastic cable ties. We never attach a fire system to hoses or cables that belong to the vehicle, as this could compromise operator safety.
These are located around your machines to allow fire system to be operated from ground level.
We give operators full control of fire systems including delay in actuation. It also relays information about the fire system, showing them if there’s a fire or a fault.
Nitrogen cartridges are factory sealed to give longevity and reliability to the system. They also make recharging the system straightforward.
An automatic engine stop prevents fuel being added to a fire. We aim to interface this with OEM E-stop systems.
An effective way to reduce the risk of damage to vehicle wiring looms is to isolate the battery and prevent more energy being added to a fire.
Some system providers ‘fit and forget’. But we believe that installations are where our responsibility begins. Here are some of the ongoing ways we help minimise the impact that fires have on your business.
